Understanding the Different Types of Fabrication

Cutting can be the only step required in the process or the first in a much bigger fabrication process. Modern ques techniques that use cutting-edge machinery have replaced the outdated methods of sawing. Today's techniques include laser cutting, waterjet cutting, power scissors, and plasma arc cutting, ranging from power tools to computer numerical computer (CNC) cutters.

Another popular and comparable production method is punching. Instead of punching, stamping leaves an impression on the metal rather than a hole. Stamping is used to imprint letters, shapes, or other designs on a sheet of metal. Coining and four-slide shaping are two common uses for stamping machines.

Tensile tension is used in this production technique to draw metal into a tapered die, stretching it into a narrower shape. Drawing is frequently utilized in sheet metal production operations where a cylindrical or box-shaped vessel is the end product.
